Music. News. Sports. A Little Mayhem. Find out why joining U92 the Moose gets you real-world broadcast experience in an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Who We Are
Former U92 members have gone on to careers in radio, journalism, sports media, music, and beyond — but just as many will tell you the most important things they gained weren’t on a résumé.
“U92 is the reason I stayed at WVU. I met my best friends at the station.”— Adam Crowley, ESPN Radio Pittsburgh & 2013 WVU alum.
This is one of the most diverse and collaborative student organizations on campus — not just in what we do, but in who we are. Different majors. Different backgrounds. Different interests. One shared goal: make something meaningful together.

What We Do
U92 is a 24/7, student-powered radio station. Everything you hear — music, news, sports, talk shows, podcasts — is created by students.
Music
Our DJs play music you won’t hear on commercial radio. We spotlight new, under-the-radar artists and help shape the sound of college radio. You don’t need to be a music expert — just curious and open-minded.We also do specialty and theme shows. Whether you're into classic rock, jazz, or even show tunes, U92 has a place for you. We even do live shows with local bands and DJ events.
You can learn more about our Music Department here.
Sports
We cover play-by-play of nearly every home game and select away games of men's and women’s basketball, men's and women’s soccer, baseball, football, and other select sports. We also have an exciting summer intership opportunity with the WV Black Bears.
Beyond play-by-play, the sports department hosts pre- and post-game shows, talk shows, and other exciting sports programming like Wednesday night's Sports Night, the Touchdown City Tailgate, and a growing list of sports podcasts.

News
Our news team reports on campus and community stories, delivering updates and producing in-depth programs. It’s hands-on experience in reporting, interviewing, writing, and producing — the kind you can’t fully get in a classroom.Other Opportunities

Where We’re Going
U92 is still proudly on the FM dial — but we’re also building the future.
We’ve moved into brand-new, state-of-the-art studios in The Daily Athenaeum Building, giving us four studios total and more creative freedom than ever before. Our new Studio A is our centerpiece, with broadcast-quality equipment and room for four broadcasters. Studio B is equipped with a new virtual soundboard and producer space, and our podcast studio offers both table and couch setups for different types of shows. Plus, we’re expanding into streaming, video, and multimedia storytelling.
Being in the DA Building also means more collaboration with The Daily Athenaeum , WVU's independent student newspaper, and Prospect & Price Creative , our student-run advertising agency. That means more chances to learn real-world skills, try new roles, and build a portfolio that actually reflects what you can do.
