Morgantown, WV (Aug. 31, 2023) - U92 The Moose will be broadcasting the Duquesne at WVU football game on Sep. 9, 2023 at 6:00 PM.
Founded in 1982, U92 is currently led by student General Manager Aneissa Gallo, a sophomore SAM major from New Jersey. She works closely with Tannor Lambert, the 2023-24 sports director.
“I think this is a super great opportunity for U92, especially when it comes to students who wish to go into the broadcasting field professionally,” Gallo says. “Giving them these experiences to help grow their craft and witness what goes into a live event of this caliber is a once in a lifetime chance.”
The broadcast will feature seniors Jonathan Hamilton on play-by-play and Quinn Robie on color.
Hamilton is a senior SAM major from Connecticut, he has served as lead play-by-play commentator for the WV Black Bears during the 2023 season this summer.
Robie is a sophomore SAM major from Hurricane, WV and has worked for U92 in various roles for the past year. He looks forward to the opportunity and is excited to work with Hamilton.
“Here at U92 we are excited to continue the relationship that we have between U92 and WVU football, these have been some of the most successful broadcasts for the station over the course of 40 years for U92 The Moose,” says Tannor Lambert, current Sports Director for U92. “The West Virginia vs Long Island game two seasons ago earned second place in the country as far as play-by-play across the country is considered. The goal is to be consistently number one in the country and having this opportunity gives the sports staff a way to continue that and improve even more so.”
This broadcast brings exciting news to U92, as the station has broadcast two football games in its history: WVU vs. Long Island University (2021) and WVU vs. Towson (2022). U92 placed 2nd in College Broadcasters Inc.'s (CBI) 2022 awards for Best Play-by-Play for coverage of the 2021 WVU-LIU game.
U92's broadcast of WVU vs. Duquesne can be heard on 91.7 FM locally, u92themoose.com, or by using the TuneIn App, an Alexa At-Home Device, or the RadioFX app.
