MORGANTOWN, W.Va - U-92 The Moose will broadcast West Virginia football's home opener on Saturday, Aug. 30, against Robert Morris.
Saturday's game marks a new beginning for the program that was set in motion after the removal of former head coach Neal Brown on Dec. 1, 2024. Brown led the Mountaineers to a 6-6 campaign in 2024. 11 days later, WVU Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker hired then Jacksonville State head coach Rich Rodriguez.
The West Virginia native dawns the old gold and blue after a 17-year hiatus from the Mountaineers. Starting his second tenure at the helm in 2025.
Saturday's matchup also marks the first-ever meeting between West Virginia and Robert Morris, which gives the Colonials a big opportunity to make a statement early in the season.
Robert Morris Head Coach Bernard Clark, Jr enters his eighth season at the helm of the Colonials. Clark led RMU to a 7-5 season in 2024 and looks to start his season with a win in the Mountain State.
U92 Sports Director Quinn Robie will handle the play-by-play for the game. “We as a station at U-92 are super extremely grateful and thankful to be able to broadcast these games to our listeners that we have, the fan base we’ve built around the country, because it’s not just West Virginia” Robie said.
Robie is a Junior sports media major from Hurricane, W. Va. He is the current Sports Director at U92 and has served as a Play-by-Play Broadcaster for numerous WVU athletic events, including Football and Men’s Basketball, as well as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for the West Virginia Black Bears.
Sophomore Matt Foley will join him as the color commentator. Foley sports media major from Alexandria, VA. He works for the U-92 sports staff and has done color commentary for WVU Women’s Basketball and WVU Baseball, as well as being a mainstay on U-92 Touchdown City Tailgate.
