WVU Women’s Basketball to host TCU in Final Regular Season Matchup

West Virginia women’s basketball will play its final regular season matchup at the WVU Coliseum on March 2nd at 1 p.m. against the TCU Horned Frogs. West Virginia is coming off a 61-68 loss to Oklahoma State, while TCU is coming off a 73-52 win against Texas Tech.

The Mountaineers are ranked #25 in the AP Poll after back to back losses to #15 Kansas State, #21 Baylor, and Oklahoma State.

In WVU’s last game, they struggled to generate offensive momentum, shooting 37.9% on the floor while Oklahoma State was shooting 49%. The Cowgirls defense stepped up in scoring 20 points off turnovers to the Mountaineers 12. 

Jordan Harrison had the best performance of the night with 2 steals and a career high 22 points. The second-top performer, JJ Quinerly, had 17 points and 5 rebounds.

Ranked 5th in the Big 12 with a 22-6 overall record, the Mountaineers are looking to rebound against TCU this Saturday. TCU is ranked 9th in the Big 12 with an overall record of 19-9. 

West Virginia won 77-52 in its last meeting with TCU on February 13. TCU has won the rest of its games since it last played West Virginia.

Saturday’s Big 12 game will be broadcast on u92themoose.com and on 91.7 WWVU Morgantown with the game starting at 1:00 p.m. Zach Anderson and Johnathan Hamilton will be on the call from the Coliseum. Pre-game, halftime, and post-game coverage will be hosted by Tanner Mountz.
