WVU Men’s Soccer welcomes Coastal Carolina on Halloween Night

Morgantown W.Va. – The now ranked seventh-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers (10-1-4) host the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (3-9-2) on the spookiest night of the year.

West Virginia looks to avoid another scare like the one the Dukes of James Madison gave them in their last match where WVU drew 2-2.

Junior Marcus Calderia and rising freshmen Issac Scheer both recorded goals in the game while Sergio Ors Navarro and Calderia added assists respectively.

The stat sheet tells a different story then the scoreboard as West Virginia was able to outshoot the Dukes seventeen to eight, as well as seven shots on goal compared to four for James Madison.

Coastal Carolina comes into this game trying to play spoiler to a very good Mountaineers squad with the Chanticleers season not going as hoped for.

Coastal Carolina ended their last game on the wrong end of a 0-5 bludgeoning at the hands of the Kentucky Wildcats who earlier this season West Virginia tied to.

The Chants currently sit at eighth in the sun belt standings going 1-4-2 in conference play with one of those draws being against the currently ranked sixth team in the country the Marshall Thundering Herd.

West Virginia sits at first place in the Sun Belt Standings with seventeen points, 2 ahead of Marshall.
