West Virginia Baseball aims to remain undefeated in the Steve Sabins Era

The West Virginia Mountaineers (13-0) aim to notch their 14th consecutive win against the Kennesaw State Owls (5-10) at Kendrick Family Ballpark on Saturday.

The Mountaineers have had a stellar start to their season as they remain perfect through regular season play so far. They are one of only six teams who currently remain undefeated up to this point, alongside powerhouse programs UNC, Tennessee and Florida State.

Last time out, the Mountaineers took a commanding win against the Owls in the first of three games this series.

West Virginia’s Sam White kept his red-hot hitting streak alive with a 4-4 day against the Owls  as the Mountaineers won in a blowout 16-2. He has extended his hit streak to ten games and is hitting a scorching-hot .425 and has notched two or more RBI in two of his last three contests.

Skylar King has been a force on both sides of the ball for the Mountaineers with a solid 4-5 performance last game, notching two RBIs as well. Griffin Kirn also improved his record as a starter to 3-0 as well with only two earned runs.

Kennesaw State notched two solo home runs in their loss, which seemed to be their only bright spot. Cash and Chirello ended with solo homers and that rounded out the Owls’ scoring.

The Owls’ look to snap their current 3-game losing streak going back to Kendrick Family Ballpark to face the Mountaineers in the middle game of their 3-game stint this weekend.
