The West Virginia Mountaineers (1-0) are set to take on the UMass Minutemen (1-0) in an early out of conference game on Friday November 8th.
The Mountaineers are looking to continue their success they had on Monday after beating Robert Morris 87-59. Senior Guard Tucker Devries was the catalyst on offense for the Mountaineers scoring 18 points on an efficient 46% shooting percentage. The mountaineers as a team made 14 threes enroute to a convincing victory.
For the Minutemen they come into Morgantown after defeating UNH (New Hampshire) 103-74. UMass was led by Senior Guard Rashool Diggins who had 26 points on 50% shooting from three and 47% from the field. The UMass defense forced 15 turnovers in a very impressive season opening win.
UMass will use this game to prepare for a tough A-10 conference this season with conference play starting in mid December. The Minutemen play tough defense translating that to quick and easy offense. The Mountaineers will look to stay hot in the newly dawned Darian Devries era of basketball here in Morgantown. The Mountaineers used a massive 30-6 run to propel them to a season opening win, so expect WVU to come out firing on all cylinders.
