WVU Women’s Soccer search for a bounce back against Colorado

The West Virginia Mountaineers (10-4-2) host the Colorado Buffaloes (10-2-4) in their final home game and penultimate game of the regular season.

The Mountaineers look to recover from a 0-1 defeat against Texas Tech in Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in their last game. They have lost two of their previous three games after starting their first six Big 12 games unbeaten.

Led by fifth year midfielder AJ Rodriguez and junior forward Taylor White, West Virginia will lean on their production and talent against this Colorado team.

The Buffaloes are coming off three straight draws against Texas Tech, UCF and Cincinnati. With the most recent against Cincinnati scoreless.

After a blistering 10-1-1 start to the season, Colorado must regain their stride. Led in goals by fifth year forward Shyra James with six, and sophomore forward Hope Leyba with five, the Buffaloes look to reenter the win column in Morgantown.

Currently in the Big 12, the Mountaineers sit in third place with 19 points, ahead of Oklahoma State with 17, and behind TCU and Texas Tech, tied at the top with 23. The Buffaloes are in fifth place in the conference with 16 points.

The Mountaineers take on the invading Buffaloes on Sunday, Oct. 20th at 1:00 p.m. Coverage with Lance Jonzen on play-by-play and Gabe Schon on color commentary, on U92 The Moose.
