WVU Women’s Soccer prepares for Big 12 test against Cyclones


No. 24 WVU Women’s Soccer will host Iowa State University on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

WVU took home a road win last Sunday, Oct 19th, defeating Kansas State 3-2. Senior forward Taylor White found the back of the net twice, scoring her 9th and 10th goals of the season. Freshman forward Kailyn Effah scored an unassisted goal early in the match. 

Iowa State, on the other hand, tied Arizona State 1-1, with a goal scored by senior forward Taylor Spitzer and will look to take home a win on the road against the Mountaineers.

White tops the Mountaineers in scoring and assists, recording 10 goals and seven assists in 15 starts. Sophomore midfielder Maddie Levy is next in line, contributing six goals in 12 starts. 

The Cyclones are led by Spitzer and Freshman Forward Megan Walters, who both have three goals and an assist through 14 appearances.
