Morgantown, W.Va. – Members of the U92 sports team will be traveling to Orlando to broadcast the 2023 Sun Belt Conference men’s soccer championship as the WVU men’s soccer team will play against Georgia State in the first round of the tournament.
The Mountaineers (11-1-4) are currently ranked #7, according to the most recent United Soccer Coaches’ poll that was released on Tuesday. The broadcast will consist of Manny Maradiegue on play by play and Quinn Robie on color.
Maradiegue, a senior from Point Pleasant, NJ, is a first generation college student studying sports and adventure media. He has been involved with U92’s sports staff for the past four years, providing valuable commentary and play-by-play for countless soccer matches.
Robie, a sophore from Hurricane, WV, is a sports and adventure media major who has worked for U92 in various roles over the past year. He has previously been on the call alongside Maradiegue for soccer games against Sunbelt opponents Old Dominion University and James Madison University.
WVU last saw Georgia State back in September, where a goal in the 83th minute from senior midfielder Luke McCormick put the Mountaineers in the lead to eventually give them a narrow 4-3 win on the road in Georgia.
The first game will be broadcasted on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m., with pregame coverage from members of the U92 staff starting at 2:30 p.m.
The U92 broadcast can be heard on 91.7 FM locally, u92themoose.com, an Alexa At-Home Device, or the RadioFX and TuneIn apps.
