The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to take on the Cougars of Brigham Young University (BYU) at the WVU Coliseum on Tuesday evening.
The Mountaineers are coming off an important 72-61 win last Saturday over the Utah Utes. While Senior Guard Javon Small was held to only 5 shots from the field, fifth-year guard Joseph Yesufu and sophomore forward Amani Hansberry both went 6-10, and four players finished with over 10 points despite being at a severe height disadvantage.
The last time WVU and VYU met, it was on Feb. 3, 2024, at the WVU Coliseum where the Cougars took down the Mountaineers 86-73.
The Cougars enter this contest with the same in-conference and overall record as WVU, 6-6 and 15-8 respectively. BYU is led by Head Coach Kevin Young who is in his first year as head coach of the Cougars.
Junior forward Richie Saunders leads the Cougars in points per game with 17.
BYU is coming into this matchup hungry for their first win since Feb. 1.
