WVU Women's Soccer prepares for a top 15 matchup vs. No. 12 Baylor in the team's first Coal Rush game.

West Virginia Women's Soccer will host the No. 12 Baylor Bears on Friday, Sept. 18  at 7 p.m. The match marks the first Coal Rush for the Mountaineers and the opening of Big 12 conference play.

Both teams are looking to top the Big 12 this season. WVU currently sits undefeated with a 5-0-1 record. Baylor is coming to Morgantown 7-1 and is undefeated on the road.

WVU is coming off their first slip-up of the season after a 1-1 draw with UConn. An early goal from fourth-year forward Abby Olexa and five big saves from fifth-year goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth kept the Mountaineers unbeaten.

Baylor comes into the game on a five-game win streak and 7-1 overall. Their last match was a 2-1 win over Oral Roberts; first-year forward Grace White opened the scoring and fourth-year midfielder Aryanna Jimison scored the winner in the 81st minute.

The Bears have a potent attack that has scored in each game this season. They've had seven different goal scorers this season, tallying 17 total goals. Their attack is led by White, who has tallied four goals so far this season.

Baylor's defense is also a hard one to break down. The defense is anchored by fifth-year Goalkeeper Azul Alvarez, coming off a five-save match earning her Big 12 goalkeeper of the week.

U92 will provide live coverage of this top-15 matchup, with Nico Caretto on play-by-play and Conor Bratchford on color commentary.
