On February 13-14, U92 held their second annual pledge drive fundraising event to raise donations for upgrades to the station and studio equipment. Donators more than doubled the goal of $5,000 by donating $10,715 for our students.

The 36-hour event consisted of 27 different programs with over 40 students and personalities on air including bands: If Kansas Had Trees, Dust Ball and Porch Couch. 

West Virginia women’s basketball will play its final regular season matchup at the WVU Coliseum on March 2nd at 1 p.m. against the TCU Horned Frogs. West Virginia is coming off a 61-68 loss to Oklahoma State, while TCU is coming off a 73-52 win against Texas Tech.

The Mountaineers are ranked #25 in the AP Poll after back to back losses to #15 Kansas State, #21 Baylor, and Oklahoma State.

On Feb. 28, the 4-4 West Virginia Mountaineers are set to play their 2024 season at Monongalia County Ballpark on February 28th against the 2-2 Canisius Golden Griffins. Both the Mountaineers and the Golden Griffins have had their ups and downs to begin the season. Both teams stand at .500, and are looking to go above with this upcoming game.

The West Virginia Mountaineers have started their year off not as spectacular as fans expected. The mountaineers currently sit at 4-4, but the mountaineers are yet to play a home game, or series this season. 

The West Virginia’s women’s basketball team will take on the #23 ranked OklahomaSooners at 1 p.m. on Saturday. West Virginia is coming off of a 77-52 win against TCU, while Oklahoma is coming off of a 84-73 win against #21 ranked Baylor.

The Mountaineers remain at #24 in the AP Poll with a 21-3 record and being 2nd in the Big 12.After losing to Baylor on the road last Saturday, West Virginia got a rebound win at TCU to close out their road trip. The starting five for the Mountaineers has remained the same over the course of the season, led by junior guard JJ Quinerly, who leads the team with 19.1points per game and 3.2 steals per game. Three of West Virginia’s last five games of then regular season will be at the Coliseum. The Mountaineers currently have a 12-1 record at their home stadium.

West Virginia’s women’s basketball team will take on Texas Tech at 7 p.m on Tuesday night. Texas Tech is coming into this game off a 56-74 loss to Cincinnati, while West Virginia is coming off a 76-69 win against BYU.

The Mountaineers jumped up to #22 in the AP Poll with a season record of 19-2. WVU is currently on a six-game winning streak that started on Jan. 10 after their 76-59 win against UCF. West Virginia has continued to be a great shooting team, as they are currently ranked 22nd in the NCAA in team field goal percentage. They also threaten teams on defense by forcing 24.7 turnovers per game on their opponents. The Mountaineers currently hold an 8-2 conference record and look to be one of the four teams that get an automatic bid to the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship tournament.

The West Virginia women’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 27 as it hosts the Iowa State Cyclones at 2 p.m.

The Mountaineers jumped back into the AP Poll as they were ranked #24. After shutting out Houston and Cincinnati, WVU became the first Division I team ever to shut out an opponent for a full quarter in back-to-back games.

It’s that time of the year when the U92ers are gearing up for the Spring 2024 intramural basketball league. After a rough season last year, the crew is ready to turn things around for the franchise. Point guard Brian McQuillen “guarantees a win along with a playoff birth” this season. Let’s take a look at what the squad is looking like. 

WVU’s women’s basketball team will face off against the Houston Cougars at 7 p.m on Wednesday night. Both teams are coming off victories on Saturday. West Virginia beat UCF by a score of 76-59, Houston defeated TCU 77-66. 

 The Mountaineers started the 2023-24 season with a flawless 13-0 record, with impressive wins against #25 ranked Penn St. and a 25 point victory against Kansas in Lawrence. Their undefeated campaign came to an end on Jan. 6 against #10 ranked Texas. The Longhorns took down WVU by a score of 70-49 in Morgantown. WVU then traveled to Ames for their matchup against the Iowa St. Cyclones on Wednesday Jan. 10. The Mountaineers fell short in that matchup as well by a score of 74-64. WVU put themselves back on track with a much needed victory in Orlando against UCF.

The West Virginia Women's Basketball team is set to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday, January 3rd at 7 pm at the WVU Coliseum. This will be West Virginia’s BIG12 conference play home opener. West Virginia is off to a very impressive 12-0 record to begin the season. The Cincinnati Bearcats come into the contest with an 8-4 overall record. 

The Mountaineers have recently found themselves inside of the AP Top 25 Poll. The Mountaineers debuted last week in the poll at No. 25. This week The Mountaineers sit at No.24. The Mountaineers are just one of six teams inside the top 25 to still have an unbeaten record to this point in the season. 

The West Virginia Women’s Basketball team is set to take on the Wright State Raiders on Monday, December 18th at 10 a.m. at the WVU Coliseum. This will be West Virginia’s fourth straight game in Morgantown standing at an undefeated 9-0 record overall, while Wright State comes in at 6-4.

WVU is led by a dominant backcourt one-two punch that consists of red hot junior guard J.J Quinerly, who is coming off a career day in her last game against Delaware State. Quinerly is averaging 18.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assist, and 3.1 steals per contest. Accompanying Quinerly in the backcourt is sophomore guard Jordan Harrison, who is continuing her strong season as well. Harrison is averaging 13.1 points, 4 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 2.9 steals per game in the early season.
